The 2015 Mini Transat Îles de Guadeloupe is now underway and Gleistein Ropes is proud to be onboard as rope supplier with Dominik Lenk · Mini Transat 2015.
Competiors race solo across the Atlantic in a 6.5m boat. On board, it's back to basics: only paper charts and a basic GPS for navigation – no computers, phones or chart plotters allowed.
Run in two legs, the first of which see entrants leave Douarnenez, France and head to Lanzarote, Canary Islands. From there, leg two sees the fleet cross the Atlantic where they will hit the finish line in Pointe à Pitre, the capital of Guadeloupe.
Gleistein Ropes provides all lines onboard, including the standing rigging. Ultra light shrouds and stays with Dyneema® Max Technology are heat set for greater strength and minimised construction stretch. Compared to traditional wire rigging, it is more than 9 times lighter at the same diameter and weight. Find out more on DynaOne® HS MAX with Dyneema® Max Technology here.
