Rainbow Warrior III sets sail with ropes from Gleistein

Launch ceremony for state-of-the-art Greenpeace campaign vessel

The Rainbow Warrior III was christened and handed over to Greenpeace today at a special launch ceremony at the Fassmer Shipyard in Berne, near Bremen, Germany. Boasting a length of 58 metres and featuring two 50 metre A-frame aluminium masts, this latest incarnation bearing the revered Rainbow Warrior name is the first to be purpose-built and not converted from another vessel. Befitting its green charter for environmental protection and sustainability, the motor-assisted Greenpeace yacht possesses 1,300 m2 of sail area enabling engine-free cruising in the majority of situations. Renowned Dutch-based specialist for premium mast and rigging equipment, Rondal, had the honour to fit out the newest addition to the Rainbow Warrior family – and their brand of choice to supply the running rigging was Gleistein Ropes.
