Podium position for Neutrogena in Barcelona World Race

Around the world in 89 days – with Gleistein Ropes on board

The Neutrogena Sailing Team entry, sponsored by Gleistein Ropes and jointly skippered by Guillermo Altadill of Spain and José Muñoz of Chile has finished in an excellent second position in this year’s Barcelona World Race. After 89 days, 11 hours, and 47 minutes , Neutrogena sailed proudly back into Barcelona very early this morning. First place in the BWR went to Bernard Stamm and Jean Le Cam on board of Cheminées Poujoulat, who finished 25 March. The performance put in by Neutrogena and its crew is all the more remarkable when one considers that a technical stop was required in New Zealand – to repair the electricity generator – while hot on the tail of the leaders. Despite needing to veer off course and having to stay a mandatory 24 hours in port, Neutrogena still retained second place, and never lost it. As the Official Rope Supplier to the Neutrogena Sailing Team, Gleistein is extremely proud of this achievement and looks forward to many more mutual successes.
