Latest high-performance, premium solutions for the yacht and super yacht market

Press Information

Bremen, 17 November 2014

Gleistein Ropes presents it latest groundbreaking solutions to the international marine leisure industry at this year’s METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show). Among the highlights is the FLX Mooring System, which boosts service life while keeping lifetime costs low by intelligently marrying premium mooring lines with decidedly more economical tails as the sacrificial element. Also set to impress is DynaOne® noveni – the latest and toughest incarnation of the popular high-performance Gleistein benchmark line with 20% increased strength. And with optimised, snugly fitting covers enveloping the powerful core for extreme resistance against heat or abrasion, the new CapTwin represents the first choice for deployment in high-performance captive winches. The trade-only METS fair runs 18-20 November 2014 in Amsterdam. The Gleistein Ropes booth is located in Hall 1, Stand 226.

Besides its standard range of high quality products for sports and leisure needs on the water, the focus at the Gleistein Ropes stand at METS 2014 will be on superior cordage solutions for the super yacht and premium sports segments.

FLX Mooring System: The bigger the yacht, the bigger the benefit
It boasts exceptionally easy handling due to its low weight and requires only the smallest amount of on board real estate despite being extraordinarily strong: the new FLX Mooring System from Gleistein. The system comprises an optimal mooring line to suit your specific needs and matches this with a highly elastic tail acting as the economical sacrificial element. This means mooring line longevity is dramatically increased and the lifetime costs of the system are radically cut as the life expectancy of the mooring line will generally be in excess of most total periods of yacht ownership. And with the benefit increasing in line with the size of the vessel, it’s the far superior alternative to conventional mooring systems for super yachts.

DynaOne® noveni: Taking performance to the limit with Dyneema® SK99
This latest incarnation of the industry’s benchmark for high-performance lines is stronger than ever. In order to reap the full benefits of the Dyneema® SK99 fibres, Gleistein has newly attuned the rope construction. The result is a full 20% increase in strength – at the same low weight. A heat-set DynaOne® HS noveni version is also available to give performance an even greater boost. It’s the ultimate choice for those who can’t afford to compromise.

CapTwin: Say aye aye, to the unmatched running rigging solution for captive winches
Today’s high performance captive winches represent a special challenge for running rigging. The lines must deliver extreme strength, traction and durability while remaining as small and light as is only possible. With CapTwin, Gleistein boasts an off-the-rack solution that is optimised for the perfect interplay between feeder and winch to return unsurpassed rope guidance attributes even under the highest loads and fastest conveyance speeds. Tremendous heat or abrasion resistance is now additionally assured with the newly available covers that tightly grip the load-bearing core – which may also be ordered made with Dyneema® SK99 for an additional 20% strength.

Besides these and other premium solutions for the yacht and super yacht markets, visitors to the Gleistein stand will also get the first chance to look at the completely revised English version of Gleistein’s internationally renowned guide for professional splicing, the “Splicebook”, which officially goes on sale at the end of the month. The Gleistein Ropes METS booth located in Hall 1, Stand 226. METS 2014 runs 18-20 November in Amsterdam.
