Gleistein welcomed a whole batch of new tenants to its Bremen headquarters in early July – 80,000 new tenants to be precise! And the number is set to rise to more than 100,000 by the end of the summer. Two beehives have been leased from the Bremen-based bee specialists Bee-Rent, who will provide all necessary care for the bee colonies and undertake any maintenance that may be required. The hives are prominently positioned near the entrance to the Gleistein reception and are creating a real buzz when visitors drop by. With this activity, Gleistein wishes to highlight and make an active contribution to counter the growing problem of the world’s dwindling bee population and the danger this represents to the natural ecosystem. But that’s not all – the honey produced by the bees will collected, extracted and packaged under the Gleistein Ropes brand, allowing the sweet benefits to be directly enjoyed! More information on the concept is available on the www.bee-rent.de website (in German only).
